David Langley is one of the most gifted muscians and performers in the central valley. He has opened for such country music greats as George Strait, Keith Urban, Merle Haggard, Mickey Gilley, John Conlee, Dwight Yoakam, John Anderson, Ty Herndon And Rhett Atkins just to name a few. He as a child, played rock guitar, and after losing his mother to cancer at the age of 17 his musical interests turned to country music. He started singing and performing and says that music is so much a part of him it's like he's all music through and through.
David was born in California and was raised on a ranch and in his spare time loves riding horses and "Cowboyin." He has a strong faith in God and still believes in holding a door open for a lady. He is a true gentleman through and through and after becoming fed up with radio stations and record execs telling him what music to record and how, he struck out on his own and now owns and manages a recording studio and the Cody Records Label. That's where you'll find his latest offering entitled, "Guitars, Livin' And Lovin' " David wrote 7 of the 9 tracks on the CD and co-wrote the other two with his friends and fellow song writers.
That "Bakersfield Sound" can be heard loud clear and proud in the song, "I Always Buck It Up" which he recorded in the memory of his friend The Late Great Buck Owens. The man plays the heck out of the guitar but if you're looking for that modern country sound of screamin' guitars and kickin' drums, you won't find it on this CD. If you're looking for t great vocals wrapped around some acoustic and peddle steel guitars with a little piano and drums thrown in...then this is the CD for you!!
So many of Davids influences can be heard thoughout this CD from soft country ballads to what Daivid says is up tempo guitar picking that would make Jerry Reed smile, it's a CD that every fan of true country music should hear. You can learn more about David Langley, his music and his career by visiting his web site at www.langleycountry.com. If you get the chance to see David perform live...DO NOT PASS IT UP!!! He is personable, puts on a great show and his guitar playing is second to none. His riffs will leave you with goose bumps and his show will leave you with a smile.
